The Sporthotel Kaiserau was built for Spain at the recent World Cup in Germany. It is now used as a centre for coaching and training by a range of sports; Manchester City was recently here too.
The place was perfect! Tidy rooms with all the sports faciltiies we needed. VFB Stuttgart were also staying there in preparation for their match against BVB.
On their tour of the training round, the Bath and Wiltshire boys managed to grab 5 minutes with Dortmund captain Sebastian Kehl. He had a brief chat with them before disappearng to prepare for the Stuttgart game. Sebastian used the Footbalnought before we did.
The long awaited game against BVB took place on Saturday afternoon. Having just watched Benny's team put 6 past their opposition in the under 15s game, it was out turn to match up against Borussia's under 10 squad and against a local U13 team.
On their visit to the BVB training ground, the boys got a chance to use the infamous Footbonaut, one of only two in the world - FC Barcelona has the other. The best and biggest football toy is designed to train touch, passing and visual/spatial awareness.
The boys were guests of Borussia for the 1st team home match versus Stuttgart. And what a game!
The journey began at Chips'n'ham at the ungodly hour of 0600 and was finally at an end 12 hours later.
Someone really must blow up Antwerp and start again, either that or ban lorries driving between the hours of 0600 and 1800!

- Belgium Easter
It is envisaged that we will take the under 9s and 10s to Belgium over Easter. A brief outline is as follows:
Dates: 18th – 21st April 2014
Over 40 boys aged between 7 and 12 came to St Laurence on Monday to take part in a half term sports extravaganza.
Preparations are in place for this week's departure to Germany. The teams will visit Borussia Dortmund's training ground as well as see the first team play against Stuttgart. They will also get the unique opportunity to use the Footballnaught, one of only two in teh world at the moment. Good luck to all those travelling.
