The BWBs 11s made a disappointing start to their Cotswold League campaign with a defeat to Gloucester at Odd Down.
Beautiful and Reading may not be two words you would utter in the same sentence, but it was indeed a glorious day in Reading on Sunday afternoon.
BWB 12 S's made the trip to Newport to play Cardiff Development Centre.
With 18 players available we decided to play 2 x 9 a-side games concurrently. Four quarters of 20 mins were played with the teams swapping at half time to ensure they played both Cardiff sides.
The under 13s and under 14s took part in a futsal competition at the Swindon centre on Saturday.
Both teams had done well at the previous competition last season and were keen to give another good show.
Happy birthday Shane who today takes another step towards his half century:)
The under 11s took another step forwards as they took part in a friendly game against Swindon.
With Swindon in the process of selecting their final District squad, the game was an opportunity to cement the messages of the last few weeks in terms of the way we expect the boys to play.
The under 11s squad continued on their path with a visit to Millfield just below the Glastonbury tour. Playing the Millfield under 12 team, it was a good opportunity for the smurfs to put into practise some of the training principles from the past weeks.
One of the highlights of the day was the trip to Villa Park to see Aston Villa against Arsenal. Indeed, for many it was their first visit to a Premier League game, and hopefully not their last!
The Premier League tie was a top of the table clash and Arsenal provided the goals in a quick 6 minute spell in which they hit Villa with three goals.
The under 11s opened their season's campaign by progressing through to the next round of the Shires Cup against Erdington & Saltley this morning.
